This fabulous Antique Victorian Scottish brooch is circa 1860 and has been modelled in Silver. It is set with an array of Agate pieces alongside 1.75ct of gorgeous Citrines and engraved on the reverse with “To MD from DTD” and “Glasgow, July 1868” which signifies the date it was gifted to a loved one.
The silver work also features intricate engraved detailing.
Scottish jewellery was made popular by Queen Victoria as it became a souvenir of her frequent trips to Scotland and her Scottish Castle Balmoral from the mid-1800s.
A beautiful brooch which is steeped in history and is something to be treasured.
