7^TH-10^TH century AD. Gilt bronze, 1 5/8” height. Broad slightly flared beams, the cross beam centered. Hand chiseled Corpus Christi of somewhat stylized form with crossed arms, originally niello inlaid, with remnants remaining. Reverse recessed for the inclusion of a holy relic. The gold surface restored, on gilt mounted polished leather neck cord for modern wear.
